When we started designing this room in an early 1900s Red Lodge home, our clients had a pretty clear vision: a warm, cozy place where friends and family could gather, play a game, make a good cocktail and stay awhile.
They wanted it to feel Western, but not modern Western. A little like stepping into an old Montana saloon—but elevated, collected and fitting for the age of the home. Most importantly, nothing too precious or overdone. This is a house meant to be used and enjoyed.
So, we leaned in.
We color-drenched the room in a moody, dusty blue, brought in warm brass lighting, worn leather, burl wood and vintage pieces, and layered in some of their own personality—the elk mount and a collection of well-loved cowboy hats included.
The result is a room that feels as though it could have evolved over time rather than being designed all at once. Sophisticated, a little unexpected and distinctly Western—a place made for gathering, lingering and, of course, a bourbon and a game of chess.

Our goal is to understand who you are, how you want to live, and your vision for your space. We also discuss your overall budget. A follow-up contract will be sent to your inbox within 48 hours for approval. We want to see what inspires you, so inspiration photos may also be requested at this time.
