Designing a space that’s both stylish and functional for a family of seven is no small feat. Fortunately, this vibrant crew had already selected the perfect starting point—a sprawling sectional large enough to seat everyone—leaving the rest of the blank canvas in our hands.
With a clear directive to create a space that felt relaxed, inviting, and airy, we focused on layering in thoughtful details. We introduced additional lighting to enhance both ambiance and practicality, carved out a secondary seating area for more intimate conversations, and incorporated plenty of cozy textures through pillows and blankets. Floor-to-ceiling curtains helped to draw the eye upward, adding softness and a sense of height to the room.
The end result is a warm, welcoming family room that balances comfort with a refined aesthetic—an everyday gathering space designed to evolve with this energetic family and the moments that matter most.
