This bathroom remodel started with two must-haves from our client: natural light and a beautiful bathtub. We gladly accepted the challenge and got to work.
We talk often about value engineering at Allis Interiors, and this project is a wonderful example of thoughtful design decisions making a big impact. Because the existing bathroom lacked natural light—and the artificial lighting wasn’t doing the space any favors—we prioritized adding a window to this second-story bathroom to completely transform how the space felt and functioned.
Next, we demoed the original bathtub wall to allow the new natural light to travel further throughout the room while also creating space for a freestanding tub. This simple structural change dramatically opened up the bathroom and created a much more inviting layout.
In addition to bringing in natural light, we layered the artificial lighting to create flexibility and warmth throughout the space. Recessed overhead lighting was paired with warm sconces on separate switches, allowing our client to choose between bright task lighting or a softer, more relaxing glow.
A lion’s paw double slipper clawfoot tub became the focal point of the room—creating an elegant yet cozy nook for bathing and checking another important item off the wish list.
To bring everything home, our client sourced an antique pie chest that fit the space perfectly, adding both functional storage and collected character. As always, our team finished the bathroom with a thoughtful mix of new and vintage artwork and décor to create a space that feels layered, personal, and lived in.
